Restoration Texts

admin June 7th, 2010

A restoration text (or restorationism text) is a text which has arisen as part of the restorationism movement These religious texts are often ancient texts which have been hid up in the earth or passed down through the hands of an esoteric organization for the sole purpose of being revealed during the present dispensation. They can also be ancient text restored through direct revelation or completely new spiritual revelations re-revealing ancient wisdom. The texts all play a part in the prophesied restoration of Israel, true Christianity and the ushering in of the earth’s final dispensation of the present creation cycle.

These texts may or may not be brought to light as part of a religious movement. In many cases, the aim of the culture/religious group or individual which wrote the text was to be of service to future generations, so the religious order which anciently guarded the text is also restored to fulfill its latter-day purpose.

The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon is a restoration text associated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was written by prophet/historians of the American Continent between 2000 BC and 400 AD, at which time it was buried in a vault in preparation to come forth as part of the Latter-day restorationalist movement.>
The Kolbrin

The Kolbrin, much like the Book of Mormon, comes from a large collection of manuscripts and tablets engraven on metallic plates by ancient spiritual leaders/historians of the Islands of Great Britain. The earliest manuscripts in the book appear to have been written in Egypt some time just before the time of Moses by a religious cult referred to as “the sons of light”. Members of this organization immigrated from Egypt to Britain some during the first millennium BC…
The Gospel of The Holy Twelve

The Gospel of The Holy Twelve is said to be a restored version of the original Gospel from which the present four synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) were copied from. It is said to have been written by John the Revelator in the same volume as the Book of Revelation, and taken by him to Tibet, to come forth in its purity in the dispensation of the fullness of times.

Oahspe is a restorationalists text brought forth entirely through revelation (automatic writing) to John Newbrough in 1880. The Kolbrin, much like the Book of Mormon, comes from a large collection of manuscripts and tablets engraven on metallic plates by ancient spiritual leaders/historians of the Islands of Great Britain. The book is composed predominately of spiritual material but also contains a small amount of history. The earliest manuscripts in the book appear to have been written in Egypt some time just before the time of Moses by a religious cult referred to as "the sons of light". Members of this organization immigrated from Egypt to Britain some during the first millennium BC and remained as a cohesive unit until they were converted to christianity by early apostles just after the death of Christ. These records were handed down through some type of hermetic order until persecution devestated the order and destroyed many of the manuscripts during the Romanization and later Christianization of Britain between 200-1100 AD

  • Introduction to Oahspe - June 9, 2010

Its difficult to decide exactly what to say about Oahspe. It has a lot of truth. But there are so many things that will rub most people the wrong way that it is hard to recommend it. I think the best advice would be that given in D&C 91, "Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you concerning the Apocrypha—There are many things contained therein that are true... There are many things contained therein that are not true. Therefore, whoso readeth it, let him understand, for the Spirit manifesteth truth; And whoso is enlightened by the Spirit shall obtain benefit therefrom; And whoso receiveth not by the Spirit, cannot be benefited (D&C 91:1-6)
