The Power of Faith, The Importance of Unity

Collective belief is the essential precursor to collective consciousness, which is the creative foundation of a unified Utopian nation, organization, Heaven and in fact all intelligent existence.

There are few who understand the importance of belief, and fewer still, the power of faith and the role both play in our eternal existence.

The religions of today become the nations of the next eternal cycle, which become the vessels enabling man to sail to all his desired destinations.

As Joseph Smith taught in the Lectures on Faith, “Faith is [the fundamental] principle of action in all intelligent beings…and the moving cause of all action in them”. It is faith that precedes all creation. Men first desire a thing, then plan out how it may be obtained, then go through the steps of creating the thing, and this is faith. It is more than desire, it is more than a dream or visualization of a reality, it is more than solidifying our plans or the actual work of creation. It is a force behind and within all three of these steps. Whether it be the building of a house, a family or a nation, men must utilize these three steps of creation to bring it from the unseen realms of the mind and heart, to the seen realms of reality.

To get more details of the particulars one might read J.S. Wards account of the afterlife (link), but suffice it to say that in heaven we create by thought, and our thoughts become things. In the rarefied state of the Spirit men have the ability to “faith” things into existence. But should this surprise us at all? Is not the same true here on earth? Do not all things begin as thoughts? Whether it be the invention of the steam engine, the car or the space shuttle, all these began as thoughts… And as the inventors spent more time thinking about them they eventually materialized into reality through a process of work.

The more complicated the thing being created the more likely that the thing created will necessitate more than one creator. Complex machines like the Space Shuttle or complex objects like a sky scraper require multiple creators all working together in a unity of faith in order to create their creations. It is often the case that one mastermind first conceives the idea and then combines his/her idea with another who has the material resources needed for its creation. Through this marriage of the unseen idea and the material means the process of creation begins. The creators then proceed to gain supporters to their cause (hire workers) who are schooled in the faith of the original creator. They are shown the plans and asked to study the parts which pertain to them. Managers and janitors, engineers and secretaries are all hired and taught their duties. As divisions and strife within a company can greatly hinder the creation of a project, the creator is wise to instill within each worker/co-creator a vision of the final result. They are taught and motivated to work as a team with one vision in mind and one purpose at heart. They are taught to have a shared faith and work as one body or collective consciousness.

Is this process sounding familiar? Do you see the implications? A space shuttle is indeed a difficult object to create, requiring the time and attention of tens of thousands of workers but it is nothing compared to the creation of a nation. The creation of a nation such as the United States or an empire like Rome takes the unified work of millions of people. A nation is only as great as the respect for the rule of law of its citizens and the mutual understanding of that law and system by its citizenry. Can you really believe that the particulars of the creation of lasting empires on earth came out of the heads of the founders? Or that the respect for the rule of law by their citizens is a product of upbringing? Their is an unseen force behind all c…..

The religions of today are in the process of forming the nations of the next world. We are working together to solidify our faith and belief in Zion or our Heaven, the city of our God. The faith we hold in common is schooling us in the law which will bind us…..

This is really to big and complex of a subject to do justice…..

As a summery of utilizing faith to bring a thing into existence.

1. Preparing. We sprout and foster the desire for the thing. We plan it out mentally and subconsciously. We draw it out in our minds and then perhaps on paper.

2. Proceeding. We solidify our primary plans. We get more specific and perhaps build a model which forces us to pay attention to particulars and perhaps change our plans to meet the unique circumstances of time, place and unexpected circumstances which face each act of creation.

3. Realization. We go through the necessary steps of bringing our creation into full being and reap its fruit.

Is it any surprise that all things in both heaven and earth are created and obtained through faith?
