Scripture-based Science Research
Weaver Research, a subset of restoredisrael.org, is a non-profit organization devoted to correlating modern scientific findings with the history of the world as given to us by God through His prophets and
in the Holy Scriptures. Our organization and research aims to be in harmony with the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormon Church).
However, neither this site nor our organization pretend to speak for or to be an official source of doctrine for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As an organization we believe in a literal, orthodox interpretation of scripture. Our scriptural research agrees with what the majority of the leaders of the LDS
Church have said and written. The Church has no official standpoint, however, on how the scriptures correlate with scientific evidence.
People in the Church (and Christianity in general) who try to correlate science and scripture tend to be highly polarized. In one camp are the theologians who believe in a
literal interpretation of the scriptures, but have little to no scientific background and thus lack the ability to produce truly viable correlation theories. In the other
camp are the scholars and scientists who are truly schooled in the available scientific evidence, but nearly always lack the scriptural faith of the theologians and tend to
dismiss, twist, or minimize historical accounts in the scriptures.
The approach we have used to correlate science and scripture is unique and extremely difficult. We strive to spend the hundreds and even thousands of hours necessary to
learn the scientific evidences as well as any scientist and yet still view the scriptures as literal and maintain them as our immovable and unbending interpretive
foundation.
The entire existence of our organization is a result of the fact that using this methodology, we have discovered some absolutely revolutionary correlations between science
and scripture. They are entirely unique and completely different from any other interpretations we have yet seen.
